Gratitude: Gratitude for all the wondrous, big and tiny blessings in our life. Our lives aren't perfect, as we judge they "should" be, but they are filled to overflowing with beauty and new days and possibility and miracles, if only we lift up our eyes and look.
Forgiveness: Forgiveness for ourselves for mistakes we've made and will make in the future. We aren't perfect and don't need to be. Once we learn forgiveness for ourselves, we will be able to forgive all others who have hurt us, since only people who are hurting inside can hurt others.
Acceptance: Acceptance of our true selves and that our deepest wants and needs are worthwhile and valid, so that we can unconditionally trust our hearts to lead us to peace. Acceptance & non-judgment of all others exactly as they are, without expecting them to conform to our judgment of what is good and right.
Courage: Courage to accept fear and push through it anyway. Fear is usually at the heart of all our problems and self-defeating, automatic reactions. As we learn to trust ourselves, we'll gain more courage that we are capable and creative enough to handle whatever change and challenges come along in life.
Kindness: Kindness for ourselves and all living creatures. We act and respond consistently with compassion, patience, encouragement, and tenderness no matter what. This is how we wish others to treat us, so this is how we treat them, no matter what, bottom line.
